STARTS 12/7: 4-Week Beginner Wheel with Juan - 10am to 12pm

Have fun while learning the basics of making on the potter's wheel. This class is designed for those 18+ with little to no experience. Individuals under 18 must be accompanied by a guardian who must also enroll in the course.

 

In 4 weeks, we'll review:

• Weeks 1 + 2:
  • Wedging techniques to prep clay for throwing
  • Fundamentals of throwing: centering, coning, opening, pulling
• Week 3: Trimming
• Week 4: Glazing

Registration for this course includes:

• 25lb bag of stoneware clay of your choice (additional clay available for purchase)
• 24/7 studio access ("Open Studio") throughout the course duration
• Use of community tools during class sessions (full beginner toolkits + bats available for purchase at the studio)
• Glaze costs + firing fees for all pieces made during class sessions

In preparation for this class, please:

• Bring an apron or wear clothes that you don't mind staining / getting dirty (aprons available for sale at the studio)
• Ensure you wear short sleeves or sleeves that can easily tuck back and not get in the way
• Tie back long hair so that it does not get caught on clay or the wheel

 

Finished pieces will be available for pick up during Open Hours 2 week from the last class and will be held for 2 weeks. Abandoned works will be discarded due to limited storage space. Thanks for understanding!

 

Open Hours:

• Thursday: 1 - 6pm
• Friday - Sunday: 10am - 6pm

 

All students must sign a Waiver + Code of Conduct Agreement before the start of class.

We require at least 2 students to run a class; we will either reschedule for a later date or refunds will be issued if we must cancel due to low registration.

 

Registration fees (minus service charges) are 100% refundable if registration is canceled 10 days ahead of class start date.

• For example, if class starts on the 15th, one must cancel no later than the 5th to receive 100% refund.

 

50% refund (minus service charges) if canceled 5 days ahead of class start date.

• For example, if class starts on the 15th, one must cancel no later than the 10th to receive 50% refund.

 

Non-refundable within 5 days of class, however, registration is transferable once to another person prior to class start date.

• For example, if class starts on the 15th and it's now the 12th and you can no longer attend, you may transfer your registration to another person. Please email the Studio Manager to coordinate.
