STARTS 3/10: Porcelain Wheelthrowing with Juan - 10:00am to 12:00pm

Curious about porcelain? Heard it throws like cream cheese? Find out for yourself during this 4-week porcelain course with Juan! Learning everything you need to know about working with this type of clay.

While this class is open to anyone, we recommend this 18+ class to individuals with throwing experience. Individuals under 18 must be accompanied by a guardian who must also enroll in the class.

 

In 4 weeks, we'll review:

• Differences between stoneware + porcelain properties
• Tips + tricks of throwing with porcelain
• Managing the drying process
• How to avoid common challenges

Couse registration fees include:

• Fresh porcelain clay during class sessions
• Unlimited studio use (Open Studio) throughout the course duration during  Business Hours:
  • Thursday: 1 - 6pm
  • Friday to Monday: 10am - 6
• Use of community tools + bats during class sessions
  • Full toolkits, bats and other tools available for purchase at the studio for Open Studio sessions
• Glaze costs + firing fees for up to 5 pieces 
  • If you would like to finish additional pieces, we will charge by the cubic inch to bisque and glaze fire

In preparation for this class, please:

• Wear clothes that you don't mind staining / getting dirty (aprons available during class)
• Ensure you wear short sleeves or sleeves that can easily tuck back and not get in the way
• Tie back long hair so that it does not get caught on clay or the wheel

Finished pieces will be available for pick up during Open Hours 3-4 weeks from the last class and will be held for 4 weeks. Abandoned works will be discarded due to limited storage space. Thanks for understanding!

All students must sign a Waiver / Code of Conduct Agreement before the start of class. 

We require 2 students to run a class; if class must get canceled due to low registration, we will refund you 100% of paid fees.

 

Unfortunately, we cannot offer make-up classes for missed sessions.

 

Registration fees (minus service charges) are 100% refundable if registration is canceled 10 days ahead of class start date.

• For example, if class starts on the 15th, one must cancel no later than the 5th to receive 100% refund.

 

50% refund (minus service charges) if canceled 5 days ahead of class start date.

• For example, if class starts on the 15th, one must cancel no later than the 10th to receive 50% refund.

 

Non-refundable within 5 days of class, however, registration is transferable once to another person or a class in the future prior to class start date. Future class must start 30 days from original class date.

• For example, if class starts on the 15th and it's now the 12th and you can no longer attend, you may transfer your registration to another person. Please email the Studio Manager to coordinate.
